1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bubli (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application (“App”).

We designed Bubli with privacy in mind. We do not require an account, and we do not upload your heartbeat recordings to our servers. Most data stays on your device.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

You may optionally enter:

  • Your name (for greetings in the App)

  • Your baby’s name or nickname

  • Your estimated due date

  • Optional titles for saved recordings

This information is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (e.g. SharedPreferences and local database files).

2.2 Audio recordings

When you use Premium features, the App uses your device’s microphone to listen to and record audio sessions.

  • Recordings are saved locally on your device

  • We do not transmit recordings to our servers

  • You can delete recordings at any time from within the App

2.3 Information collected automatically

The App may store local settings and flags on your device, such as:

  • Onboarding completion status

  • Theme preference (girl / boy / neutral)

  • Premium access status

  • App preferences and similar technical settings

We do not currently operate our own analytics platform inside the App.

2.4 Information we do not collect

We do not currently collect:

  • Email addresses or passwords (no login system)

  • Payment card details directly (future purchases will be handled by Apple/Google and/or RevenueCat)

  • GPS/location data

  • Contacts, photos, or calendar data

3. How We Use Information

We use on-device information only to:

  • Personalize your experience (e.g. greeting, countdown)

  • Save and play back your recordings

  • Remember your settings and preferences

  • Control access to Premium features

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Microphone Permission

The App requests microphone access only to provide listening and recording features. You can deny or revoke this permission in your device settings, but those features will not work without it.

5. Sharing Your Information

5.1 Sharing you initiate

If you choose to share a recording, the App uses your device’s native share sheet. Any recipient or third-party app you share with is outside our control.

5.2 Service providers (future)

If we add subscription billing, we may use third-party services such as:

  • Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase

  • RevenueCat (subscription management)

Those providers process payment and subscription data according to their own privacy policies. We do not receive your full payment card number.

5.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or others.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Data is stored locally on your device

  • We use reasonable measures to protect data within the App

  • No method of storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for securing your device (passcode, backups, etc.)

If you uninstall the App or use “Reset onboarding & all data” (debug builds), locally stored data may be deleted depending on your action and device behavior.

7. Data Retention

We retain on-device data until you delete it or uninstall the App. Recordings remain on your device until you delete them in the App.

8. Children’s Privacy

Bubli is intended for expectant parents and adults, not for use by children on their own. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data.

Because most data is stored locally, you can:

  • Edit or remove profile information in Settings

  • Delete individual recordings in the Recordings section

  • Revoke microphone permission in device settings

  • Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data

10. International Users

If you use the App your information is processed and stored on your device locally.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide notice in the App or on our store listing.
